About Ipple Tipple Beer Festival
Ipple Tipple Beer Festival runs alongside the superb annual Ipplepen Village Show.
Our aim each year is to provide a varied selection of locally produced South Devon beers and ciders. There will be beers & ciders to sample ranging from traditional bitters & stouts, amber beers and strong ales with hand crafted local ciders.
Full details of the beers & ciders can be found on the website including the accompanying music & entertainment on the day. Ipple Tipple with Ipplepen Village Show is an annual celebration of village traditions, food, drink, music & entertainment which raises funds for projects and societies in the village.
The People Behind Ipple Tipple
The first Ipple Tipple was in 2008 and grew out of a conversation between friends over a pint of beer. Since then it has become an established annual event alongside the Cottage Garden Show.
Over the past 18 years and from modest beginnings the traditional Beer & Cider Festival has been lovingly fed and watered growing and flourishing into an established event on the Ipplepen calendar.
Each year an enthusiastic committee of local villagers of mixed ages and experience work to bring all of the aspects of the festival together ready for when the gates open on show day.
Our aim each year is to offer a selection of locally produced beers and cider presented in a friendly and convivial environment. We take into consideration the change in the brewing industry by offering new flavours and styles of beer, cider but always backed by the good old traditional staples that are always popular.
More so than ever we are grateful for the help and support of volunteers from the village who lend a hand with the build-up for the day. Volunteers also swell the numbers serving behind the bars enjoying the fun and buzz of the crowds attending the Village Show.
THE DAY AFTER – We always need volunteers to help take down marquees clear up the show field and put everything back into storage ready for the following year. What ever time people can give to help the clear up is grateful received and we will send out reminders nearer show day asking for volunteer helpers.
